Extended Partnership with WASCO
An extended opportunity for WASCO to oversee operations at Dawson Creek Regional Airport
DAWSON CREEK, British Columbia – June 17, 2020 – Winnipeg Airport Services Corp. (WASCO), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Winnipeg Airports Authority, is partnering with the City of Dawson Creek, BC, to provide airport management services for the next three years at Dawson Creek Regional Airport (YDQ).
In 2019, WASCO and the City of Dawson Creek, signed a one-year agreement for the company to begin overseeing and managing YDQ. This new contract represents a three-year extension of WASCO’s services to help refine practices and deliver innovative solutions to enhance the overall operation of the airport. The subsidiary of Winnipeg Airports Authority (WAA) leverages its team of industry experts and extensive resources to deliver cost-effective aviation services at 33 different airports across Canada, including Dawson Creek Regional Airport.

This partnership is an exciting opportunity for us to implement meaningful change for operational compliance, exceeding industry standards and carrying out our strategic business plan to build a strong foundation at YDQ.”
Dawson Creek is one of three Canadian airports to receive airport management services on behalf WASCO, adding to The Pas, MB and Iqaluit, NU. An additional management contract has also been unanimously approved by the town council in Stephenville, NL. The goal is to work hands-on with airport staff to provide technical guidance and build upon practices for operating a safe and efficient airport environment. With a wealth of experience, WASCO has a strategic system for sharing practices that work for specific airport environments to transform obstacles into opportunities.
